Wyndham Council has removed a large Sugar Gum tree at the corner of Geelong Road and Anne Street in Werribee today.

The council stated that their arborist had been monitoring the health of the tree for some time and unfortunately it had died.

The tree was removed in order to avoid any potential hazard to the public.
Wyndham Council has a tree-planting program in place that is intended to keep temperatures down and provide clean air. There are approximately 7,000 trees to be planted each year through the program.
